David Lereah's New Video
David Lereah is the former Chief Economist and Senior VP of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Between 2001 and 2007, Mr. Lereah regularly made statements regarding the housing bubble. The media regulary turned to him for real estate quotes. He was very influential. Mr. Lereah tells half truths and manipulates facts and figures. He cannot be trusted as he was a paid shill.

Wow - Lereah has a lot of leather-bound books. I bet his apartment smells of rich mahogany.
Why should anyone give a handfull of monkey s**t what Lereah says? That being said, he is likely a smart guy. However, he in highly un-ethical. Just to keep his job at NAR he had to preach the party line..."Oh, no! The sky is not falling!" when he knew it was. And, no Lereah, you will never live this down. You were so obviously tainted and misled so many people, you will take this to your grave. How many people made horrible financial decisions based on your predictions? To many.
Hi David,
After your cringeworthy appearance on KCRW's "To The Point" program on 9th May 2006 with Professor Michael Hudson, including
- "This is the most dire forecast I've heard so far about the housing market - I guess he can see the downside to just about anything"
- "He's very pessimistic about local government and deficits. I hope he's not that pessimistic in front of his students, otherwise they'll never want to go and get a job"
- "This a good soft landing for the real estate sector"
- "We're going to be left with a healthier real estate sector, starting in '07"
- "Is that a bubble waiting to burst?... no"
- "The booms don't get followed by a bust, the booms get followed by a contraction"
Having an ounce of shame and dignity would imply that you should commit professional hari-kari
Is he mentally disturbed? People like that should be put in JAIL for deceiving the public. Its like robbing a bank.
Ok, I wanted to hear David's hopeful comments for 2011. Where are those? You just can't get too much Lereah. He was fun on the way up and a real riot on the way down.
Heck, I can't even find the Fun Yuns anymore. Where are the Housing Boom Nuts when ya need 'em?
John
